BEGINNER PILATES SERIES w/ Karen Vitale Thursdays 7:30 - 8:30 PM ~ 8 weeks (Sept 10,17,24,Oct 1,8,15,22,& 29) With an emphasis on breath, core conditioning and body awareness, PILATES exercise is a safe and highly effective way to stretch, strengthen and streamline your body without building bulk or stressing your joints. This class is a perfect compliment to cardiovascular exercise, sport, rehab and life. Exercises will leave you looking toned, feeling revitalized and moving with ease. 8 week session = $120. PRENATAL YOGA w/ Marnie Memmolo Mondays 5:45 - 6:45 PM or Saturdays 9:30 - 10:45 AM (on-going series)
A class specifically designed to support mother and baby throughout the changes of her pregnancy. It is a safe and effective way for women to care for themselves during pregnancy and prepare for childbirth. In this class you will gently stretch and strengthen your body, increasing your energy and vitatlity through mindful movement and yoga postures. You will also cultivate your capacity to breathe freely, release tension and relax deeply. This class is designed to help women develop trust in themselves and in their ability to give birth. POSTPARTUM/MOM & BABY YOGA w/ Marnie Memmolo Thursdays 3:00 - 4:15 or Fridays 10:30 - 11:45 AM (on-going series)
This class is designed to nurture your bond between you and your baby, fight off "baby blues," improve your posture, stretch and relax as you let go of all the aches and pains of the postpardum body, strengthen and tone particularly abdominals and pelvic floor muscles, increase your energy, learn relaxation techniques and introduce yourself to a parenting community. In addition, help your baby sleep better, assist with digestion, colic and fussiness, increase neuromuscular and motor development, strengthen muscles, develop social and play skills, assist babies natural development with tummy time, crawling, walking, nuture and bond between parent and child. 4 week session fee = $75. BEGINNER TAI CHI SERIES w/ Johanna Hattendorf Tuesdays 10:45 - 11:45 AM ~ 6 weeks (Sept 15, 22, 29, Oct 6, 13 & 20) Tai Chi is a wonderful form of movement that is good for people of all ages. It provides the benefits of exercise without the stress and danger often associated with high-impact sports. YOGA OASIS WORKSHOP w/ Eileen Erni Friday, September 18th ~ 6:30 - 8:10 PM
In this specialty workshop, prepare to relax deeply from the stress of life with gentle restorative yoga, mindful breathing and meditation. Eileen will guide you through a gentle but specific set of postures used to help trigger the Parasympathetic nervous system. The "PNS" is responsible for balancing the body and bringing its response system back into equilibrium. Stimulating the PNS helps to lower heart rate,blood pressure, it helps to healthily stimulate the immune system. With the use of bolsters, blocks, essential oils and chilled lavender eye pillows, prepare to pamper the body, release residual tension , and restore natural balance and harmony. Class fee = $21.
